"Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God."  Romans 1:1

If we have received Jesus by faith as our Savior and Lord, we, like Paul, have been called.  We are called to be holy (set apart, dedicated to God) and sent out ( as a holy messenger) to tell the Good News (gospel) that Jesus saves.  Jesus said:  "...as the Father has sent Me, I am sending you."

Oh, but we have a family, a job, church, errands, social engagements, appointments and etc.  It is a busy life.  That's okay.  Christ goes where we go.  He lives in us and we reflect Him.  We live and move in Christ.  We have our very being in Him.  Right?  In every situation, we reflect Christ's attitude, behavior, speech, compassion, focus and concern.  Right?  Or, are we distant with Him? Just as we can be married and living in the same house with our spouse but not knowing what they think or how they feel, so we can live in Christ and be blind and deaf to him.  A withering branch on the Vine.

How does the world see us?  Do they see Jesus?  Are we the "salt of the earth?"  The "light of the world?"

Or, are we instead using the time God has given us:  indiscriminately watching television  & surfing the net?  Reading tabloids & pop fiction?  Shopping with money we don't have for things we don't need?  Cheating on our taxes because "everyone does it?"  Eating far beyond the point of need to the point of harm and obesity?  Throwing God's name around casually or listening to others who do? In other words, are we or are we not God's chosen people, a peculiar people, set apart for God, devoted to Him, filled with Him?(1Peter 2:9)  It is not what we do.  It is Whose we are.  But, if we are His it shows in everything we do.

Where is the difference in us that the world can see?
